Simple Cremation

“We know exactly what you mean when you say...
all I want is a simple cremation.”

The practice of a simple cremation has been steadily rising over the last century. Not only has simple cremation replaced the traditional funeral but many people see it as offering a new, creative, different, and highly dignified ceremony to honor and respect the ones we have lost. Today, most religions welcome simple cremation.

Making funeral arrangements for a loved one is very strenuous and complicated for grieving family members to plan. We, at Funeral & Cremation Emporium strive to create a personal relationship with every individual so that we can ensure their loved one’s wishes are carried out in an appropriate and respectful manner. Choosing a simple cremation is a matter of family preference. With a simple cremation your options are abundant. The cremated remains can be interred at a cemetery inside of a niche or plot, kept in a decorative cremation urn at home, split into portions and divided among relatives or scattered on land or at sea. Although simple cremation without a memorial service or gathering is common, you may opt to plan a modest or sophisticated ceremony to following simple cremation. This will give everyone who attends an opportunity to properly grieve and begin to heal. After the simple cremation takes place, family and friends can gather at a funeral home, church, residence, park or garden in a life celebration with or without the cremated remains present. A simple cremation along with a humble gathering is beneficial and at times more appropriate in terms of family finances and emotional recovery. A permanent memorial establishes a special place where family and friends may visit to remember a departed loved one. You may opt to place a cemetery marker where the remains are buried, have an urn or memorial bench engraved to honor your loved one, or plant a tree in remembrance. Permanent memorialization will help give family and friends peace of mind and closure.

Because cremation is an irreversible process, many states require that each cremation be authorized by the medical examiner after overlooking the death certificate. There is usually some type of waiting period because the simple cremation process itself will eliminate any ability to determine the exact cause of death. The funeral director will inform you of the legal requirements for your state. During the cremation process the decedent is placed inside of a casket or alternative corrugated container and placed in the cremation chamber. During a simple cremation, the temperature is raised to approximately 1500-2000 degrees Fahrenheit. All organic matter is consumed by heat or evaporation within 2-3 hours. After the simple cremation takes place all that is left is bone fragments. The cremated remains are carefully removed, then processed into fine particles and are placed in either a temporary receptacle or cremation urn purchased by the family. Throughout the entire simple cremation process a carefully controlled labeling system ensures proper identification.
